Job description

Accounts Payable Supervisor

The Emil Anderson Group, through its subsidiary companies, performs civil construction, land development, new home construction, commercial construction, and road maintenance throughout British Columbia.

We are seeking an Accounts Payable Supervisor for the Head Office in Kelowna, BC. This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday with some flexibility in start and end times.

Job Overview

The Accounts Payable Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the accounts payable function, ensuring accurate and timely payment of invoices, managing the Accounts Payable team, and ensuring compliance with accounting and internal control policies.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate in accordance with and uphold Emil Anderson Group (EAG) Core Values in all aspects of your work.
  • Uphold an unwavering commitment to developing a zero-injury culture and meeting the Paving the Way to Zero goals.
  • Oversee the processing of invoices and related payment requests from vendors.
  • Ensure all invoices are coded correctly and approved according to company policy.
  • Research and resolve discrepancies and vendor issues related to payments.
  • Manage the Accounts Payable team, providing training, coaching, and guidance to ensure all team members perform their roles accurately and efficiently.
  • Perform regular performance reviews.
  • Maintain vendor relationships and manage communications related to invoicing, payment, and service level agreements.
Competencies:
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in accounts payable.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a supervisory role.
