Job description

In this position, you’ll be based in the Montréal office for a minimum of three days a week, with the flexibility to work from home for some of your working week. If you have a remote location recorded in Fusion, this arrangement will continue to be honored if you are successful in your application, provided that:

A role you will love

The Associate Corporate Trust Officer assists the Corporate Trust Officer with the setup, administration, and client service relationships of Corporate Trust business to ensure client compliance with covenants in all types of Corporate Trust mandates and offers additional support to the Corporate Trust management team. In particular, the Associate Trust Officer will :

  • Set up new document files, including creating trust records, writing desk operating procedures, initiating billing, and ensuring accurate information is recorded on various systems.
  • Provide technical and administrative support for files such as escrows, paying agencies, warrants, subscription receipts, and P3 administration.
  • Administer a portfolio of accounts thoroughly, professionally, and efficiently.
  • Ensure accurate billing of fees.
  • Research and respond to inquiries from investors, issuers, and other clients regarding client file administration, including document review in consultation with the Corporate Trust Officer.
  • Monitor compliance with covenants and ensure timely execution of duties, including notifications and record-keeping.
  • Coordinate the delivery of notices, share certificates, escrow releases, warrant exercises, and debenture conversions in compliance with internal and legal requirements.
  • Assist with closings and document execution, attend closings, and ensure all required documentation is obtained.
  • Monitor billing issues, aged receivables, corrections, and research items, assisting with accounts receivable management.
  • Draft correspondence and statements to clients and follow up on actions required.
  • Support mailings and meetings with debtholders or warrant holders per policies and regulations.
  • Assist with team projects as requested.

  • Excellent bilingual communication skills (French and English)

  • 3-5 years of office experience, preferably in legal, securities, or financial sectors
  • Knowledge of Corporate Trust business (asset)
