Overview

We are seeking an Instructional Designer to join Gas Operation Human Resources Development Division.

The Gas Operation Human Resources Development Division is responsible for providing training programs aim to continuously provide necessary expertise to manage the current gas facilities processes and operate and maintain the equipment safely and reliably, in addition to meeting the requirements of future expansion plans and the ability to use the latest technologies.

As an Instructional Designer, you will be responsible to transform complex technical knowledge into effective, standardized learning programs that directly support Upstream operations.

Key Responsibilities

As a successful candidate you will be required to perform the following:

  • Identify and define business system needs to align with organizational training goals, ensuring that the training infrastructure supports operational objectives.
  • Perform in-depth evaluations of current business and training systems to identify inefficiencies, provide recommendations and implement improvements that optimize knowledge transfer and competency development.
  • Create clear, actionable specifications and documents outlining current training and knowledge management workflows and business processes.
  • Develop functional specifications for technology-based learning systems, ensuring they integrate seamlessly with existing operational systems.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify gaps in training and operational performance, providing actionable insights into how learning systems can address these challenges.
  • Prepare and present business cases for new training initiatives and systems, ensuring alignment with broader business goals.
  • Facilitate requirements-gathering sessions with key stakeholders and SMEs, translating their input into clear training system requirements.
  • Design and document process models for training delivery and knowledge transfer, ensuring clarity and effectiveness in communication.
  • Implement and maintain quality assurance protocols for both systems and learning content, ensuring that learning outcomes meet business expectations.
  • Transform complex technical content into effective, engaging learning programs using proven instructional design methodologies (e.g., ADDIE, SAM).
  • Design and develop comprehensive, impactful training curricula and materials that are aligned with business analysis findings and operational needs.
  • Create assessment frameworks to evaluate both system effectiveness and learning outcomes, ensuring that training objectives are met.
  • Apply adult learning principles and best practices to enhance knowledge retention and promote skill development across different learning styles.
  • Work closely with SMEs to extract and standardize technical knowledge, ensuring that training materials are accurate, relevant, and aligned with business needs.
  • Develop a variety of digital learning solutions, including e-learning modules, videos and interactive content to meet diverse learning preferences.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness using feedback, data analysis and learning analytics to continuously improve the quality and impact of the programs.
  • Create standardized templates, frameworks and design structures to ensure consistency in the delivery and quality of learning experiences across the organization.
  • Bridge the critical gap between subject matter experts (SMEs) and the workforce learning needs, driving improved efficiency in training delivery.

Minimum Requirements

As a successful candidate you will hold a:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business and Management, Computer & Information Systems, Instructional Design or a related discipline from an accredited university. An advanced degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of 12 years of combined experience in Business Systems Analysis and Instructional Design/Training Development, including at least 9 years specializing in technical or industrial environments.
  • Proven track record of analyzing business needs and developing corresponding learning solutions that have led to tangible business improvements.
  • Expertise in both business process modeling (e.g., BPMN, UML) and instructional design methodologies (e.g., ADDIE, SAM).
  • Experience working in both agile and waterfall project environments, with the ability to adapt to changing project requirements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into accessible learning solutions.
  • Experience with requirements management tools, learning management systems (LMS) and business analysis software.
  • Knowledge of process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) and their application in training and operational contexts.
  • Familiarity with data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI) for both business intelligence and learning analytics.
  • Expertise in gap analyses, needs assessments and cost-benefit analyses to identify areas for improvement and measure the ROI of training initiatives.
  • Understanding of change management principles and experience implementing strategies to drive user adoption and engagement.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (English Language) for effective stakeholder management, SME collaboration, and team leadership.
  • Strong documentation, presentation, and instructional writing skills to produce high-quality system specifications and training materials.
