Your new role:
Are you an experienced and strategic leader with a background in emergency management? If so, we invite you to apply for the Manager, Emergency Preparedness role within our Properties, Facilities and Development team. This position is vital, and you will be responsible for the leadership and coordination of emergency preparedness across all Curtin WA campuses.
In this role you will:
- Lead the development and maintenance of Curtin’s emergency management systems, plans and procedures.
- Act as the primary liaison during emergencies, coordinating with internal stakeholders and external emergency services.
- Deliver a comprehensive training and preparedness program, including evacuation drills, scenario-based exercises, and incident response team coordination.
- Provide expert advice and support to senior leaders on emergency and business continuity matters.
- Champion a culture of readiness, compliance and continuous improvement in line with legislation and best practices.
To be successful in this role, you are a proactive and adaptable professional with:- Demonstrated and proven management experience in preparing for emergencies, emergency management and response.
- Ability to communicate at all levels and in large public forums with influence and commitment, together with policy, procedure and report writing skills.
- Proven experience in applying organisational, conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills and negotiation skills at a senior level.
- Comfortable with developing and maintaining significant business relationships and representing Curtin in key meetings and forums with external stakeholders.
- Advanced computer skills in the Microsoft suite of products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio.
- Proven knowledge of, and practical experience in the application of Emergency Management roles, responsibilities, incident management and reporting systems.
Desirable Criteria:- Experience in administering budgets.
- Previous experience in working in a large multi-disciplined organisational environment.
Role Requirements:As this is a continuing role, you must have permanent working rights in Australia to be considered.
