The Vice-President, Finance and Administration (“VPFA”) is the university’s chief administrative officer. Reporting to the President and serving as a key member of the executive team, the VPFA employs a collegial, collaborative decision-making style over financial and non-academic administrative services, supporting the university’s academic mission. The VPFA oversees daily operations through direct reports and staff across departments such as Finance, Facilities and Campus Planning, IT Services, Info Security, Safety and Risk Services, and Campus Services, ensuring activities align with SFU’s purpose to create and connect knowledge, learning, and community for meaningful impact.

As the ideal candidate, you are :

  • A senior financial and operational executive experienced in a large, complex environment;
  • Innovative, with a proactive approach to improvement;
  • Effective at leading change and fostering a culture of equity, belonging, and safety;
  • Aspiring to provide outstanding leadership and mentorship to diverse teams;
  • Service-oriented, capable of guiding a finance and administration team in support of organizational goals;
  • Personally committed to the vision and values of SFU;
  • Holding a graduate degree in business administration or a related field; experience in a post-secondary setting is advantageous.

Simon Fraser University values Employment Equity. The salary range for this role is $233,089 – 315,283, with a target hiring salary of $280,000– 315,000, complemented by a competitive total rewards package.
