Job Opportunity: Student Office Assistant – Social Services Programs (Bilingual English/French)

We are seeking candidates for a temporary student position as a Student Office Assistant in Social Services Programs. The position is scheduled for summer 2025, starting as soon as possible, and involves working Monday through Friday, 36.25 hours per week.

The Student Office Assistant will primarily report to the Client Services Supervisor and will assist the Area Office team with reception duties, customer service, and administrative support. This role supports the delivery of quality social services programs to the communities served by the Algoma District Services Administration Board.

Qualifications:
  • Bilingual in English and French
  • High school, college, or university student who has completed courses in office computer applications
  • Strong client service orientation and experience serving the public in person and on the phone
  • Ability to handle and protect confidential personal and health information in accordance with legislation and policies
  • Interest in a career in office administration, social services, early childhood education, or community health services
Compensation:

The hourly rate is $19.10 plus:

  • 6% vacation pay
  • 2% in lieu of paid sick time
  • 4.5% in lieu of paid holidays

Total hourly compensation: approximately $21.49.
