Job description

BGC Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton & Area is an organization that believes in the promise of all children. Our team works with community volunteers, partners, and supporters to create safe environments for children between school and home and to provide caring mentoring relationships for children and youth. Now, more than ever, the kids in our community need us, and we are looking for great staff to join our team.

Are you a passionate storyteller with a flair for digital marketing and a heart for community impact? We’re looking for a Marketing and Recruitment Facilitator to help drive our mission forward—one story, one campaign, and one volunteer at a time.

In this dynamic role, you’ll lead marketing strategies that attract volunteers, amplify fundraising efforts, and promote community programs making a difference in the lives of children and youth across Edmonton and surrounding areas.

Responsibilities you will have:
  1. Coordinate and design content for websites, print media, social media, digital ads, newsletters, and displays.
  2. Create content and quotes for printed materials and agency merchandise, manage inventory, and ensure brand consistency.
  3. Align agency marketing to National Office marketing strategies and integrate provided materials.
  4. Manage social media platforms, schedule content, and respond to inquiries.
  5. Support digital ad campaigns (sometimes in coordination with partners), monitor campaign progress and performance using analytics.
  6. Update and optimize the agency website for SEO and organizational goals.
  7. Use analytics tools to monitor social media engagement and generate reports to inform strategies.
  8. Develop engaging content for social media, websites, print media, digital ads, and newsletters using photos or videos that include interviews and storytelling.
  9. Participate in recruitment events and presentations in Edmonton and surrounding areas to network and engage potential volunteers.
  10. Deliver messages promoting the need for mentors in the lives of children and youth.
  11. Support the agency’s volunteer appreciation events and strategies.
  12. Work closely with other departments to support their marketing and communication needs.
  13. Stay up to date on digital marketing trends and suggest innovative ways to deliver content.
Qualifications and skills that will make you stand out:
  1. Hold a diploma or degree in Digital Media, Marketing, Communications, Social Media Management, or a related field.
  2. Bring 3+ years of marketing, digital analytics, content creation, and communication experience.
  3. Experience with tools like WordPress, Google Analytics, Hootsuite, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, and social media ad platforms.
  4. Comfortable behind a camera—DSLR or smartphone—and know how to turn moments into visuals.
  5. Love connecting with people and have the energy and creativity to share our mission widely.
  6. Have a valid driver’s license and are open to occasional evenings or weekend events.
Why join us?

This is more than a job—it’s an opportunity to use your marketing skills to change lives. Every campaign and story brings us closer to ensuring more children and youth have the mentorship and support they deserve.

This is a full-time permanent position with access to our RSP, health and dental benefits, and more! Our salary ranges from $47,744 - $54,018 annually.

Apply today to help amplify our message and connect more volunteers to our mission!
