The Opportunity

As a Territory Sales Manager at Dechra, you will play a key role in driving the growth and success of our business by overseeing the sales of our high-quality veterinary pharmaceutical products within your assigned region. Leveraging your expertise in relationship building, you will achieve ambitious targets, strengthen customer partnerships, and ensure exceptional service delivery to veterinarians. Your contributions will directly support Dechra’s mission to provide innovative and specialized solutions that improve the health and well-being of animals worldwide.

Role Responsibility

So, what will you be doing? This role has a broad and varied scopeand the successful candidate will have responsibility for duties including :

  • Report to, and operate under the general direction of the National Sales Manager.
  • Meet established sales goals and manage expenses to budget.
  • Conduct veterinary clinic sales calls within the assigned territory (in person or virtually).
  • Organize and attend seminars, dinner programs, CE programs, etc. with targeted veterinarians.
  • Provide regular feedback, as required, to management.
  • Provide input / feedback to management on marketing programs, marketing materials.
  • Attend key National, Regional & Provincial veterinary conferences.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key veterinarians and opinion leaders.
  • Travel 25-50%
  • Other duties as requested.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Animal Health Technician or University Degree preferred
  • Demonstrates strong selling skills. Sales experience in the animal health industry is preferred.
  • Experience in developing and executing territory business plans.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the medical, operational and business side of veterinary practice.
  • Knowledge and understanding of selling to key opinion leaders in a specialty practice environment.
  • Strong analytical, technical, communication and presentation skills.
  • Exhibits a high level of passion and self-motivation.
  • Candidate must demonstrate initiative and accomplish goals with minimal supervision.
  • Solid understanding of basic computer programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Willing to travel extensively throughout assigned territory and to regional and national events.
