Job Information And Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Senior Director of Athletics & Recreation, the Head Coach for Cross Country and Track & Field develops and coordinates the interuniversity programs in a manner designed to foster and enhance the positive moral, academic, and athletic growth of the athletes. Responsibilities include recruiting students, promoting the program, overseeing the SMU Open track & field meet, regional and national meets, and staying current with AUS and USports rules and eligibility policies. The Head Coach also builds community support through outreach and alumni relations, and manages the development of assistant coaches.

Experience And Education Requirements

Applicants should possess an Undergraduate Degree and at least 3 years of related experience in competitive athletics. Additional requirements include current coaching techniques, leadership skills, Safe Sport certification, and a NCCP certification or equivalent. Previous post-secondary athletics experience is an asset.
