Okanagan Staffing Services is actively seeking experienced Accounting Professionals to join our temporary staffing list for ongoing Payroll Administration positions. We are looking for candidates with strong accounting skills and extensive experience in payroll applications, covering both union and non-union environments.

These temporary opportunities are perfect for professionals who excel in fast-paced environments and are looking to apply their payroll expertise to support organizations in the Kelowna region.

Key Responsibilities

1. Manage payroll functions, following established procedures for payroll production and employee data processing.
2. Maintain and update employee data files and track benefit accumulation within a computerized payroll system.
3. Respond to employee inquiries regarding salary, benefits, deductions, and payroll policies.
4. Make necessary corrections, adjustments, or payments related to payroll discrepancies.
5. Produce and distribute pay statements, cheques, and third-party/government correspondence and remittances.

Qualifications

1. 3-5 years of payroll processing experience in medium to large-sized organizations.
2. Accounting experience in Accounts Payable and Receivable, with proficiency in Sage, QuickBooks, or Great Plains.
3. Advanced proficiency with computer-based payroll systems such as Ceridian, ADP, or Avanti.
4. Strong communication skills, both written and oral, with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
5. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
6. Completion of the Canadian Payroll Management Certificate Program is preferred.
7. A positive team attitude, strong work ethic, and problem-solving abilities.
