  • 0.80 FTE Grades K-9 Blended Learning HLC Teacher - Outdoor Learning
  • Must be able to provide face-to-face instruction in Kelowna, BC.
  • This temporary position is subject to enrollment.
About Heartwood Learning Communities (HLC)

HLC programs support students from Kindergarten to Grade 9 in multi-grade classes with diverse needs. Face-to-face instruction may occur up to 2.5 days per week. During home learning days, educators support families through various platforms, plan collaboratively, and engage with the community.

Candidate Qualifications
  • Training, certification, or experience teaching in online or blended programs in BC.
  • Experience with place-based and experiential learning.
  • Standard First Aid certification; Wilderness First Aid is an asset.
  • Experience in outdoor leadership and outdoor experiential learning.
  • Ability to create online learning resources (e.g., Desire2Learn, Google Classroom).
  • Skills in using e-portfolios (Seesaw), blogs, websites, and assessment practices.
  • Commitment to parent workshops and co-facilitation of student learning.
  • Experience coordinating community-based programs.
