Learning Support Teacher at

École Pine Grove Middle School

Position: Learning Support Teacher, Probationary Full-Time

Location: Edson, Alberta

Start Date: Duties to commence August 26, 2025

Hours of Work: 1.0 FTE Monday-Friday

The competition will remain open until: May 22, 2025, at 12:00 pm MST

École Pine Grove Middle School, located in Edson, Alberta, is part of the Grande Yellowhead Public School Division. It is a dual-track (English and French Immersion) middle school with approximately 375 students in grades 6-8.

Role and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be collaborative, proficient in educational technology, and knowledgeable about assessment for learning. Responsibilities include:

  • Providing instruction to promote high-quality, student-centered learning.
  • Designing and preparing lessons based on curriculum, employing various teaching methodologies including lectures, demonstrations, and discussions.
  • Facilitating inclusive educational practices to maximize opportunities for all students.
  • Reviewing and evaluating student performance, knowledge, and skills, and meeting all reporting and assessment deadlines.
  • Adhering to provincial legislation, board policies, and division procedures.
  • Developing constructive relationships with parents.
  • Modeling commitment to professional development.
  • Additional comments: This position includes a 0.75 LST assignment with an additional 0.25 FTE teaching component. The specific teaching component will be determined based on the candidate’s strengths and the school’s needs.
Requirements

The successful candidate will:

  • Possess an Alberta Teaching Certificate or be eligible for one.
  • Have experience following the Teaching Quality Standard (TQS) and infusing literacy across the curriculum.
  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree of Education.
