Who are we looking for?
We have an exciting opportunity for a Global Head of Account-Based Marketing (ABM) . This leadership role leads the end-to-end development and execution of account-based marketing strategies that drive measurable growth within GHD’s top global client accounts. This role plays a critical part in advancing our shift from traditional campaign marketing to precision-focused client engagement. The position is accountable for building a scalable ABM program that aligns with key account priorities, strengthens strategic relationships, and directly contributes to pipeline progression and revenue outcomes. Close collaboration with business development, client leads, and marketing teams is essential to translate account strategies into high-impact, personalized marketing initiatives — leveraging data, insights, and emerging tools, including AI, to elevate program performance and relevance.
The Global Head of Account-Based Marketing can be based in most GHD office locations in Canada or the U.S. GHD supports a hybrid work model.
Responsibilities include :
- Design and lead the global ABM strategy, with a strong focus on one-to-one and one-to-few programs tailored to strategic clients.
- Collaborate with business development leaders and key account teams to identify target accounts, define growth priorities, and align on commercial objectives.
- Develop personalized marketing plans based on account intelligence, client needs, and buyer journeys—translating these into multi-touch engagement programs.
- Partner with internal teams to develop tailored content and assets across channels (e.g., email sequences, webinars, webpages, executive engagement, and co-branded content).
- Leverage webinars as strategic touchpoints within ABM campaigns, shaping topics, format, and participation to deepen engagement with target accounts.
- Define and operationalize ABM standards, scalable practices, and governance models that support high-quality execution and regional adoption.
- Build internal capabilities by developing scalable ABM toolkits, templates, and processes to enable execution across global and regional teams.
- Incubate ABM tactics with pilot accounts and scale effective approaches across broader account cohorts.
- Own ABM contribution to pipeline progression and marketing-influenced revenue growth, setting clear KPIs and collaborating with BD to track performance against commercial targets.
- Deliver against pipeline and MQL targets through targeted campaigns; report performance through monthly scorecards and aim to achieve a 5 : 1 return on marketing investment.
- Increase trackable marketing-influenced revenue to 35% over 3 years by driving effective ABM strategies across defined market sectors.
- Measure and report on program performance, including account engagement, pipeline impact, and return on marketing investment, to inform ongoing optimization.
- Evaluate and apply AI-powered tools and technologies to enhance targeting, personalization, content generation, and campaign optimization across the campaign lifecycle.
- Stay current on ABM technologies, methodologies, and best practices to drive innovation and efficiency.
Requirements and Qualifications include :
- 10-15+ years of B2B marketing experience in consulting and / or professional services matrix-style organizations with a strong focus towards commercial impact and sales enablement.
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
- Proven ABM leader with expertise in building and scaling programs across the ABM spectrum (1 : 1, 1 : few, and 1 : many), including orchestration of multi-touch journeys mapped to account priorities.
- Strong commercial acumen and the ability to translate business objectives and account strategies into tailored marketing plans that directly influence pipeline and revenue growth.
- Demonstrated success developing demand generation and ABM programs in long-cycle, high-value sales environments.
- Skilled in developing and optimizing full-funnel client journeys using a mix of content, digital, and experiential tactics.
- Laser-focused on metrics that drive measurable commercial impact, including revenue growth and investment returns.
- Deep understanding of account intelligence, segmentation, and personalization, with experience applying data and insights to drive targeted engagement.
- Advanced skills in marketing automation, marketing technology, digital marketing, marketing analytics, KPI measurement, and growth strategy.
- Adept at working across data, tech platforms, and performance reporting to inform decisions and measure impact.
- Experience developing playbooks, processes, and toolkits to support consistent ABM execution across global and regional teams.
- Familiarity with AI-powered marketing tools and a forward-thinking approach to applying emerging technologies for targeting, personalization, and campaign optimization.
- Excellent communicator and coalition builder; knows how to build organizational support, collaboration, and credibility across multiple functions within the organization.
- Strong executive presence with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and partner with business development and account teams to co-own marketing outcomes.
