Currently, Manga Hotels owns and operates 33 hotels with over 6,000 rooms across Canada and the United States, along with 18 food and beverage outlets and 5 residential properties, with several new developments in the pipeline. As Manga Hotel Group continues to expand, we are actively seeking talented individuals to join our growing team.

Position Overview :

We are looking for a highly energetic, detail-oriented individual with experience in bookkeeping and financial accounting, possessing an analytical mindset. The candidate should have a proven ability to manage the books independently and provide accurate, timely feedback on the operational and financial performance of a property.

This is a full-time, on-site role based at our corporate head office near Toronto Pearson Airport. Remote work is not available for this position.

Responsibilities :

  • Manage full-cycle hotel accounting, including month-end close processes.
  • Prepare and issue complete and accurate monthly hotel profit and loss statements.
  • Review P&L statements and analyze variances.
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations, including credit card, cash, and bank reconciliations.
  • Lead year-end sheets preparation and assist with external audits by providing required information and schedules promptly.
  • Maintain regular communication with hotel managers and relevant staff.
  • Handle ad-hoc requests and projects; reassign duties as department needs evolve.
  • Assist in creating annual budgets.
  • Train and oversee junior bookkeepers in accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll tasks as needed.
  • Experience in hotel accounting is preferred but not required.
  • Minimum of 4-5 years of hands-on experience with general ledger, reconciliation, and analysis.
  • Bachelor’s degree or three-year diploma in Finance or Accounting.

Technical Skills :

  • High computer literacy, including MS Office and Excel (advanced level).
  • Experience with Sage 300 (ACCPAC) is preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
  • Self-motivated, methodical, with problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to work at an accelerated pace and overtime when necessary.
