Cultus Lake Park (CLP) is located approximately one hour east of Vancouver, just south of the City of Chilliwack. The Park is one of BC’s most popular outdoor recreation destinations offering golfing, hiking, sport fishing, watersports and much more. This unique, self-supported community is home to 1500 residents and sees a large influx of visitors during the summer months. CLP is inviting applications from qualified candidates to fill up to two Park Utility I Special Assignment, full-time positions. The individual(s) in this role reports to the Public Works Supervisor and assists management to achieve an efficient and economical operation through the maintenance of Park utilities, infrastructure, and amenities. The employee(s) will also aid with the maintenance and upkeep of public areas, construction and installation of Park works in accordance with relevant legislation, regulations, and best practices.

Knowledge, skills and abilities:

  1. Completion of grade 12 supplemented by a minimum of two years’ experience in a similar work environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
  2. a valid Class 5 Drivers Licence with no restrictions;
  3. general knowledge of carpentry practices and use of power tools;
  4. ability to readily recognize, rectify and/or report upon actual or potential safety hazards;
  5. appropriate communication skills including the ability to express thoughts and ideas clearly, converse with a wide range of people and demonstrate an aptitude to interact with contractors, staff and the general public with courtesy, diplomacy and tact;
  6. ability to work independently with minimal supervision and balance overlapping priorities;
  7. ability to complete WHMIS training; and
  8. a satisfactory police information check.


This is a Union position under the Collective Agreement between Cultus Lake Park and CUPE Local 458. The incumbent will normally work 37.5 hours per week with a 7.5-hour day scheduled between 6:00 am and 8:00 pm. Shifts may include weekends and statutory holidays and overtime may be required from time to time. Performance of duties requires travel and working outside in all kinds of climactic conditions. The incumbent is required to follow all safety practices and procedures in the performance of duties.

The wage rate for this position is $30.43 per hour plus 12% in lieu of benefits. The term commences on between June 16 and June 23th , 2025, for up to a 4-month term. If you are interested in applying, please submit your resume, along with a cover letter, outlining how you meet the qualifications.
