Summary
Reporting to the Team Leader, Component Repair, the Sheet Metal Technicians specialize in working with sheet metal in the fabrication, maintenance, and repair of gas turbine engine structures and components.
Duties:
The duties will include, but not be limited to, the following:
- Reading and interpreting engine blueprints and engineering drawings to understand job requirements.
- Using power and hand tools to shape and form sheet metal into engine parts and components.
- Joining and assembling fabricated parts using rivets, bolts, soldering or welding equipment.
- Ensuring the cleanliness and organization of the work area to maintain a safe working environment.
- Ensuring all parts are properly stored, cleaned, and packaged to prevent any material handling damage.
- Working closely with the Team Lead and other departments to ensure the efficient and timely processing of components through the Component Repair department.
- Assisting in training future personnel, including assisting the Team Leader with the compilation of work instructions and procedures.
- Assisting with repair scheme development and expansion of the current component repair scope of services.
- Making recommendations on policy and procedures to improve shop productivity and profit of the company in general, and to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Increasing knowledge of the HSE Policy and Manual and maintaining a positive attitude towards the health and safety of myself and my coworkers.
- Taking ownership of HSE issues and demonstrating enthusiasm and support for HSE.
- Other duties as directed by the Team Leader, Component Repair or designate(s).
This position will require the candidate to work on a shift rotation including day shift and evening shift.

The minimum training and/or educational requirement for this role is 5 years related experience or a combination of education and experience that allows the individual to adequately perform the role, determined by Team Lead, Component Repair.
