Position Overview
The City of Saint John is accepting resumes for the Playground (Sunshine) Program Supervisor for our 9-week summer program (beginning June 16th, Monday to Friday, 8:30 am–4:30 pm). The role reports directly to the Recreation Program & Community Development Coordinator and Playground (Sunshine) Program Coordinators.

Position Overview
Do you enjoy working in a team environment, engaging with children outdoors, being active, and creatively developing and implementing activities? We are looking for someone who can interact with children, keep them engaged, and help them learn new skills daily.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and conduct a variety of games, activities, arts, and crafts to provide a diverse recreational experience for children of all abilities and ages.
  • Guide and encourage active participation from all children in activities.
  • Supervise and ensure the safety of all participants during program hours.
  • Maintain proper use and care of all program equipment (sports, crafts, electronics).
  • Provide routine first aid for minor injuries, document incidents, and report serious injuries to the Sunshine Program Coordinators.
  • Perform daily safety checks to ensure a safe, clean environment free of hazards.
  • Adhere to designated working hours and come prepared to work.
  • Your primary goal is to deliver a fun, engaging, and meaningful summer experience for participants.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working with children. First Aid and CPR certifications are assets. Candidates must obtain a vulnerable sector check.
