Job description

Schedule

Full Time, 40 hours, evenings: 3:00 pm - 11:30 pm, Monday - Friday, with weekend & holiday rotation.

Principal Duties/Physical Demands

1. Performs the 8-step cleaning procedures, including daily cleaning, discharge cleaning, bed making, wall spots, toilet cleaning, high and low dusting, and O.R. terminal cleaning.
2. Completes work from the previous shift if needed, reports all incomplete assignments and maintenance issues.
3. Cleans organic body waste, such as blood, body fluids, feces, sputum, etc., as instructed by the supervisor or team leader.
4. Hangs cubical curtains, shower curtains, and window curtains.
5. Disinfects and sanitizes I.V. poles, pumps, and other patient equipment during discharge cleaning.
6. Performs all Environmental Services-related tasks following department guidelines.
7. Performs basic and heavier cleaning functions in assigned areas following established schedules and methods.
8. Cleans patient equipment, including beds and room furnishings, as requested.
9. Assists in manpower support for office moves, conference setups, and other occasions.
10. Performs cleaning of emergency spills when observed or upon request.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent.
• Ability to understand and converse in English sufficiently for safe, efficient job performance.
• Ability to lift 25-50 pounds.
• Physical ability to stand for long periods, bend, stoop, and lift.
• Competence in using proper chemicals for tasks.
• Ability to learn and demonstrate new healthcare procedures.
