What we expect

Your responsibilities

  • Process weekly payrolls, union, non-union and salary
  • Ensure all government and 3rd party payments are issued accurately, Weekly & Monthly
  • Prepare weekly journal entries pertaining to payroll
  • Year End – balance, prepare and issue year end documentation for all provincial and federal requirements
  • Prepare monthly government statements as required (Stats Canada)
  • Review to ensure all new hire and terminations are processed accordingly
  • Prepare record of employments and manual cheques, as needed
  • Identify process improvement initiatives and define standards for new processes
  • Act as back up for the Payroll Team
  • Additional reasonable duties as assigned by the Management Team

Who we are looking for

  • Minimum 5 years of payroll experience in a fast-paced unionized environment
  • Bilingual, English & French is an asset
  • Quebec Payroll Experience
  • PCP Certified or in progress
  • 3 years’ experience with ADP WFN and Oracle
  • Strong understanding of Payroll, HR, processes, and data, including CBA agreements and benefit procedures
  • Effective organizational and interpersonal skills, including written and verbal communications
  • Ability to exercise good judgement in high pressure, sensitive situations
  • Ability to meet aggressive deadlines
