Arts and Recreation Leader (Creative Arts Facilitator) – Arts and Aging Network

Are you an artist with a passion for community, storytelling, and meaningful connection? Join the Arts and Aging Network as a Creative Arts Facilitator and help bring joy, creativity, and connection to generations through arts-based programming.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver a unique arts program (e.g., visual art, theatre, music, dance, writing)
  • Facilitate workshops in seniors’ homes, community centers, and on the Old School Bus
  • Encourage creativity and connection in older adults, including those living with dementia
  • Collaborate with a team of fellow facilitators to enhance overall program delivery
  • Support logistics such as materials, space setup, and scheduling
  • Participate in training and have the opportunity to mentor youth artists

Qualifications:

  • Background or strong interest in the arts (any discipline)
  • Experience facilitating workshops or working in community arts is an asset
  • Compassionate, creative, and adaptable approach to engaging older adults
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle are required.
  • Willingness to learn how to drive a large commercial vehicle is an asset. *No special license required*
  • Clear Code of Conduct and Vulnerable Sector Check
