Job description

Overview

The Quality Process Engineer is a vital member of our site-specific quality team, responsible for supporting the Quality Manager in implementing and maintaining the quality management systems and ensuring the integrity of manufacturing processes and products. This role involves analyzing quality performance, participating in continuous improvement projects, and ensuring compliance with both internal and external quality standards and regulations. The Quality Process Engineer will work closely with various departments to identify areas for quality enhancement, streamline processes, and contribute to the overall goal of achieving excellence in product quality and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the development and implementation of quality management systems and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct detailed analyses of manufacturing processes to identify potential quality issues and recommend improvements.
  • Participate in the Non-Conforming Material (NCM) process, including investigation, documentation, and resolution of quality issues.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by applying Lean, Six Sigma, and other quality improvement tools and methodologies.
  • Facilitate root cause analysis and corrective action processes to address product or process non-conformities.
  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to integrate quality control measures into manufacturing processes.
  • Conduct supplier quality audits and evaluations to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
  • Assist in the preparation and execution of internal and external quality audits, including ISO compliance checks.
  • Monitor and report on quality metrics, trends, and performance to the Quality Manager and other key stakeholders.
  • Stay current with the latest quality assurance trends, tools, and technologies to drive innovation in quality management practices.
  • Perform electrical/mechanical testing and analyze test data to determine if designs meet functional and performance specifications.
  • Coordinate evaluation and testing of new products, components, and processes.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Quality Assurance, Industrial Management, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in quality engineering or quality assurance within a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated experience with quality improvement tools and methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 and other relevant quality management systems.
  • Experience in conducting quality audits and supplier evaluations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities, capable of working collaboratively across departments.
  • Proactive and self-motivated, with a strong desire to drive improvements in quality.
  • Organizational and project management skills, able to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Continuous learner, open to adopting new techniques and methodologies in quality management.
  • Demonstrated commitment to upholding high quality standards and continuous improvement.
  • Experience in quality-related FEMA processes is a plus.
