In the last decade, the rate of Canadians with anxiety, depression, and bipolar disorder has nearly doubled. Now, in any given year, one in five Canadians experiences a mental illness, and 7% contemplate suicide. Substance abuse has also increased, with the Canadian Mental Health Association estimating that 21% of the population will meet the criteria for addiction in their lifetime. Unfortunately, the public system has not been able to meet the increased demand for intensive treatment, with an average wait time of almost two months.

EHN Canada was founded in 2013 to support this growing demand. We believe that every Canadian has the right to accessible (little to no wait times), affordable (paid for by government or employer), and excellent (using outcomes measurement and evidence-based practices) mental health and addiction treatment services. Job Description

With inpatient substance abuse and mental health treatment centers across the country, EHN Canada has a strong market presence, including brand recognition, referral relationships, previous clients, advertising, word-of-mouth, and search engine optimization. We generate over 10,000 inbound inquiries monthly from potential clients or their families, which are handled by the admissions team via calls, chats, and emails.

The Inside Sales Representative manages this high inbound volume through professional 30-minute phone consultations. This involves building relationships, understanding client situations through detailed discovery questions, and recommending appropriate treatment programs. Ongoing training on mental health disorders, treatment modalities, ethics, confidentiality, and client needs supports this role. The representative also manages an active inquiry pipeline and collaborates with medical and clinical staff for admissions approval.

The admissions team is expected to double in size over the next five years. Since mastery of this role requires an 18-24 month learning curve, leadership positions are filled internally, with opportunities for advancement to team leads, supervisors, managers, and directors.

Success in this position requires excellent communication skills, compassion, customer service abilities, self-motivation, emotional intelligence, and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities
  • Answer inquiry calls/emails/faxes and assess eligibility for further assessment or admission
  • Provide information on programs and services or referrals to external providers
  • Conduct intensive addiction assessments and make clinical treatment recommendations
  • Proactively case manage clients, communicating with clients, families, referents, healthcare professionals, legal professionals, and external parties as needed
  • Document all communications accurately
  • Act as liaison for community referral agents, such as EAP representatives and occupational health organizations
  • Participate in team meetings regarding treatment planning and evaluation
  • Complete assessment and admission documentation, including consents and forms
  • Prepare and maintain client files
  • Maintain open communication with team members about client cases
  • Book pre-admission medicals with physicians as required
  • Maintain client waiting lists
  • Present program education sessions as needed
  • Prepare reports and manage data entry
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Minimum two years of sales experience with a proven results track record
  • Experience in consultative selling and customer relationship management preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient understanding of the admissions process from lead generation to admission
  • Proficiency with Salesforce
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, unpredictable environment
