Work Arrangements :

  • Due to the nature of the work and operational requirements, this position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement (combination of working onsite and telework). Employees in this position who telework will be required to travel to the identified work site at least three times per week at their own expense.

We are looking for a senior-career Industrial Technology Advisor (ITA) to support the NRC Industrial Research Assistance Program (NRC IRAP). The ITA would be someone who shares our core values of Integrity, Excellence, Respect and Creativity.

Screening Criteria

Applicants must demonstrate the following criteria in their application :

Education

  • Post-secondary degree in Science or Engineering related to the position from a recognized university.
  • A combination of a degree in another field with relevant work experience will be considered.
  • Preference for candidates with additional degrees or diplomas in business, management, administration, finance, or marketing.

Experience

  • Recent and extensive industrial business experience as an entrepreneur or senior manager in domains such as automation, robotization, or mechanical engineering.
  • Experience in developing and commercializing innovative products / services with demonstrable outcomes.
  • Experience in international business development or IP management is an asset.
  • Experience as an entrepreneur or senior manager in SMEs is an asset.

Conditions of Employment

  • Reliability Status (background check over 5 years).
  • Ability to travel locally, nationally, and internationally.
  • Valid driver’s license and vehicle access.

Assessment Criteria

Candidates will be evaluated based on :

  • Technical competencies : knowledge of NRC-IRAP, SME management, technology development, project management, and sector trends.
  • Behavioral competencies : communication, initiative, networking, client focus, analytical ability, results orientation, teamwork (levels 3 or 2).

Compensation

Salary range : $140,321 to $164,894, with potential placement within this range based on experience. Bilingualism bonus : $800 / year. NRC benefits include pension, health, dental, disability, life insurance, and more.
