Position: Client Relationship / Business Development Manager

** Mechanical Engineering background required

Location: Peterborough, Ontario

Job Type: Permanent, Full Time

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Travel Requirement: Approximately 25% (within North America)

Salary: $90,000–$100,000 base salary, plus performance-based bonus tied to company revenue growth

Position Overview

This role is ideal for a mechanical engineering professional with experience in client management and business development. The successful candidate will lead initiatives to grow the company’s presence in key industries, act as a trusted technical advisor to clients, and work cross-functionally with internal teams to deliver customized material handling solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Market Expansion

  • Identify new business opportunities across North America
  • Build and strengthen client relationships in the mining, cement, and energy sectors
  • Lead outreach efforts through market research, networking, and client engagement

Client Relationship Management

  • Serve as the primary contact for assigned clients
  • Conduct regular client reviews and communications to maintain satisfaction and loyalty
  • Develop tailored service strategies that align with client goals

Technical Consultation & Solution Design

  • Apply engineering knowledge to identify client needs and recommend technical solutions
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to deliver customized, precision-based systems

Strategic Planning & Market Insights

  • Contribute to business development planning based on client and market data
  • Provide feedback to guide product development and service improvement
  • Share insights on competitor activity and evolving client needs
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • 5+ years’ experience in business development, technical sales, or client relationship management
  • Background in bulk material handling, manufacturing, or heavy machinery preferred
  • Proven ability to understand and communicate complex technical concepts
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and presentation skills
