We are looking for a Shipping & Receiving Lead Hand to join our growing team at our London, Ontario facility
Reporting to the Operations Manager, this position will be responsible for leading and executing the daily activities of a busy Shipping & Receiving team, as well as overseeing inventory management. This includes managing all transactions and movements within the warehouse, inbound and outbound materials. The Shipping & Receiving Lead Hand plays a key role in our Operations team, seeking better, smarter, and more cost-efficient ways to operate. The person must be able to create momentum and enthusiasm within the team to implement change.
This is a DAY SHIFT position, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
WHAT YOU'LL DO :
- Manage daily warehouse operations and lead a small team in shipping, receiving, and material handling, planning workload based on shipping, receiving, and inventory requirements.
- Conduct proper QC checks on inbound foreign shipments.
- Promote and ensure adherence to Health and Safety standards, fostering a positive safety culture.
- Ensure all inbound materials are received and accurately recorded in ERP (Syspro).
- Ensure timely and cost-effective shipment of all finished goods.
- Manage employees to achieve high quality, productivity, and efficiency levels.
- Maintain clean, organized, and hazard-free warehouse areas before, during, and after shifts (5S).
- Handle employee concerns and issues, including incident reports and other documentation, submitting them to the Operations Manager.
- Plan daily requirements to ensure continuous workflow, utilizing strong communication, organizational, multitasking, and prioritizing skills.
- Assist in onboarding and training new employees.
- Operate mobile equipment, including forklifts, as required.
- Perform additional duties as needed to support business success.
- Proactively seek process improvements using KAIZEN and LEAN methodologies.

WHAT YOU HAVE :
- 2-3 years of lead hand experience in a fast-paced material handling/shipping/receiving/logistics environment.
- Strong knowledge of domestic and international shipping processes.
- Experience with customs paperwork and EPA regulations.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS :
- Professional communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Legal eligibility to work in Canada.
- Reliable transportation to and from work.
