What you will be doing
- Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Administer medications in the patient's home, specialty clinics, and Physician Partnership clinic settings.
- Assess and monitor pre- and post-injection/infusion treatments as directed by program protocols.
- Complete necessary documentation based on policies, procedures, and standards of practice including those from the College of Nurses and Innomar ISO accreditation.
- Provide patient and caregiver education based on product monographs and program protocols, either individually or in groups.
- Report adverse events, serious adverse events, and product complaints in accordance with Innomar policies and training.
- Ensure reliable availability to meet the needs of the IBU and key performance indicators.
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to meet scheduling and treatment timelines.
- Communicate with patients and caregivers to set up appointments and coordinate drug delivery to home and clinic.
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions to maintain professional standards.
- Adhere to professional nursing standards and work collaboratively within the healthcare team, delegating tasks as authorized.
- Travel within designated IBUs to meet operational needs.
- Follow all standard operating procedures, work instructions, and health and safety standards.
- Complete ongoing education and training within specified timeframes.
- Perform other duties as required by Innomar.
What your background should look like
- Experience and Educational Requirements:
- Relevant experience as a Registered Nurse is required.
- At least 1 year of IV initiation experience.
- Current registration with a licensing body and CPR certification.
- Experience in critical care, emergency, acute care inpatient/outpatient, or homecare settings.
- Additional certifications such as ACLS, PALS, MS, CVAA, and central venous line experience are assets.
- Proficient in MS Office applications and internet use.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and travel within the assigned area.
Minimum Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical distribution industry and business acumen are assets.
- Strong critical thinking, organizational, and time management skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines and resolve issues efficiently.
- Self-directed and adaptable to a fast-paced environment.
- Valid driver’s license and insurance.
