Base pay range

CA$110,000.00 / yr - CA$120,000.00 / yr

Responsibilities :
  • Research innovative technological approaches to devise new solutions, findings, and knowledge to influence product roadmaps.
  • Prepare customer-facing technical materials, providing thought-leading technical solutions and perspectives.
  • Interface with customers to understand problems and applications, using feedback to generate and drive new product design requirements.
  • Work with technical customers to define and develop customized system solutions and/or product designs.
  • Participate in product design from concept to production release, including design, testing, debugging, EMC, safety compliance, etc.
  • Conduct laboratory tests and evaluate results, such as electrical performance and electromagnetic compliance (EMC).
  • Lead or participate in developing product specifications, operational theories, test procedures, and create technical assets.
  • Design and analyze electronic circuits for embedded hardware, mixed signals, and power conversion circuitry.
  • Apply best practices to balance design complexity, reliability, cost, and manufacturability.
  • Provide technical leadership within multidisciplinary teams throughout product development cycles.
  • Execute design concepts using simulation, empirical testing, and verification testing.
  • Maintain detailed records of calculations, simulations, tests, and other design documentation.
  • Develop test plans to verify electrical, environmental, and functional compliance of designs.
Qualifications :

Experience and Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Power Electronics.
  • 4-7 years of experience designing Power Electronics Hardware in manufacturing.
  • Experience with stage gate product development processes.
  • Excellent communication skills for documentation and discussions.
  • Design experience with Inverters/Chargers, Solar Charge Controllers, and DCDC Converters.
  • Track record of bringing development projects from concept to industrialization.
  • Experience designing power conversion products up to 5kW.
  • Knowledge of IGBTs, MOSFETs, control circuits, and component stress calculations.
  • Experience with embedded microcontrollers, FPGA’s, control algorithms, and converter stability analysis.
  • Familiarity with communication protocols like Modbus/TCP, EtherNet/IP, CAN, USB.
  • Understanding of product design standards, safety, and reliability principles.
  • Experience with PCB layout for power electronics and high-speed circuitry.
  • Knowledge of EMC design and testing principles.
  • Familiarity with safety standards like UL1741, IEC62109, NEC, etc., is a plus.

The salary range is CA$110,000 to CA$120,000 annually. This is a one-year contract position with potential for permanent employment.
