About the Position

Vernon Jubilee Hospital (VJH) is seeking to expand its Emergency Medicine team. We are looking for certified professionals (FRCPC in Emergency Medicine, CCFP (EM), or ABEM) to join our collegial team. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, full-service ED where they will encounter a variety of cases, from trauma to reductions.

Our department currently comprises 15 emergency physicians, supported by locums, handling approximately 60,000 visits annually. We have excellent specialist support, on-site CT and MRI, and substantial physician coverage during most of the day and evenings. Our facilities include an ICU with internist support, regional urology, ophthalmology, ENT coverage, a PCI centre, Level II Trauma Centre, and other subspecialties nearby.

Vernon Jubilee Hospital, with about 196 beds, serves over 11,000 admissions and nearly 13,000 surgeries annually. Our emergency department has over 30 beds and two trauma bays. We offer full-time positions with 12 shifts per month, part-time locum options, and potential for permanent employment. Our team values work-life balance and is exploring expanded shift coverage and sabbatical programs.
