Job Description

The role is part of European Operations monitoring and processing of Corporate Events for RBC Capital Markets securities trading businesses and its clients. The role ensures that Corporate Events are captured, reconciled, monitored and funded where required. The operations role is a first line of defence to trading businesses, maintains accurate books and records, and provides a seamless client experience.

Note: This is a one-year contract opportunity.

What will you do?
  • Ensure all daily tasks and controls are completed in line with departmental PRIMA maps and procedures.
  • Assist the Team Manager/Department Head on projects, process improvements, or new business initiatives.
  • Develop product and market knowledge to ensure processes reduce operational risks.
  • Escalate unusual behaviors and processing issues promptly following the Operations Escalation Policy.
  • Locate and understand RBC policies.
  • Keep PRIMA maps and procedures up to date and compliant with RBC policies.
  • Investigate processing issues and recommend actions; assist in implementing approved changes.
  • Support colleagues during busy periods by sharing workloads.
  • Provide excellent client service, responding to queries within agreed timeframes.
  • Complete mandatory training and suggest additional training as needed.
  • Handle Asset Servicing tasks: processing, balancing, and reconciling positions related to mergers, conversions, and redemptions, including scrubbing announcements, balancing entitlements, and processing payments.
  • Monitor, manage, and execute instructions related to corporate actions, stock records, and assignments.
  • Manage and process corporate action events: identification, position validation, assignments, and expiries.
  • Process incoming and outgoing checks and wires for coupons and dividends.

  • 1-2 years of experience in Capital Markets, Asset Servicing, or Corporate Actions roles.
  • University degree or College Diploma in Business, Finance, Economics, or equivalent experience.
  • Flexibility to adapt to change and eagerness to learn new skills.
  • Focus on delivering exceptional client experience.
  • Strong ethical principles and ability to thrive in a competitive environment.
