Are you enthusiastic about safe excavation and skilled in assisting with hydrovac equipment? Join the Badger team as an Assistant Hydrovac Operator! In this role, you'll use high-pressure water and vacuum systems to dig precisely and efficiently, uncover utilities, and contribute to various construction projects. Salary: $24.00 per hour and up based on experience, with many opportunities for pay increases and career advancement!

Responsibilities

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Assisting in operating hydrovac equipment and performing hydrovac duties in various environments, including confined spaces
  • Attending safety meetings
  • Performing routine inspections and minor repairs of hydrovac equipment
  • Preparing work areas by setting up safety measures and addressing potential hazards
  • Documenting and reporting all paperwork accurately and efficiently, including Badger, Federal, Provincial, and Customer documentation
Qualifications

What We're Looking For:

  • Valid Class 5 license (G license in Ontario) with airbrake endorsement
  • First aid, Ground Disturbance, and CSTS certifications preferred (additional safety tickets like Fall Protection, H2S Alive, and Confined Spaces may be required depending on location)
  • Ability to work variable shifts with extended hours
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%
  • Ability to lift, push, pull 50+ pounds and have the physical stamina for manual labor in varying weather conditions
  • Prior hydrovac equipment operation or related industrial experience is preferred

  • Candidates must undergo a physical exam and complete pre-employment screenings, including driver’s abstract review and drug and alcohol testing
