What is the opportunity?

This role offers an exciting opportunity to join RBC Capital Markets' Business & Client Services group, providing key operational support for investment banking needs. You'll gain exposure to Know Your Client (KYC) laws and regulations in Canada and the USA. As a KYC Onboarding Analyst, you'll specialize in conducting client due diligence reviews for prospects and existing clients across Global Investment Banking, Corporate Banking, and Global Markets. You will understand product-specific CDD requirements, including swaps and derivatives, assess CDD trigger conditions, escalate high-risk concerns, and perform sanctions screening to build customer risk profiles. The role requires strong organizational skills, multitasking ability, effective communication, and teamwork.

What will you do?
  • Support timely onboarding and maintenance activities for clients, ensuring data integrity
  • Perform preliminary due diligence, update KYC information, and conduct sanctions screening
  • Identify and escalate high-risk factors for enhanced due diligence in line with RBC’s risk appetite
  • Fulfill OTC derivative requirements related to trade reporting and swap rules
  • Conduct open-source and paid-source due diligence searches
  • Manage request pipelines and update workflows for efficiency
  • Prioritize requests based on deadlines and handle urgent requests flexibly
  • Maintain organizational tasks like correspondence management and system updates
  • Provide expertise on CDD requirements to stakeholders and clients
  • Communicate case updates and respond within 24-48 hours
  • Collaborate with Business and Compliance partners to resolve operational issues
  • Partner with regional KYC teams for continuous coverage
  • Contribute to team knowledge and training materials
  • Participate in system testing and ad-hoc projects
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have:
  • Bachelor's in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field
  • At least 2 years in KYC/AML, due diligence, or banking operations
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Strong performance drive and task prioritization skills
  • Operational mindset with focus on results
  • Knowledge of regional regulatory requirements (e.g., CIRO, OSFI, FINTRAC, CFTC, SEC)
  • Proficiency in data analysis and MS Office tools
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong communication skills with a client-first attitude
Nice-to-Have:
  • CAMS certification
  • Experience with investment banking products or capital markets
  • Background in operations or technology
  • Familiarity with KYC lifecycle tools like Fenergo, Encompass, ISDA Amend, D&B, LSEG Data & Analytics
  • French language skills
