Qualifications

  • 3+ years’ experience in Intellectual Property practice in a law firm or legal environment.
  • Strong attention to detail with superior word processing, spelling, proofreading, and editing skills.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills.

  • File applications with Canadian Intellectual Property Office (CIPO) and others.

Job description

Responsibilities :

  • Prepare, edit, format, print, scan, and revise correspondence
  • Proofread documents and check for appropriate format, spelling, grammar, and clarity
  • File applications with Canadian Intellectual Property Office (CIPO), United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), and World Intellectual Property Office (WIPO)
  • Liaise with agents to file applications
  • Monitoring and reporting of Trademarks Journal
  • Maintaining records, and physical and electronic files
  • Manage key dates and bring forward system and updating calendars
  • Coordinate client meetings
  • Liaise with team members as needed

Requirements :

  • 3+ years’ experience in Intellectual Property practice in a law firm or legal environment
  • Legal Administrative Assistant certificate / diploma or equivalent
  • Strong attention to detail and superior word processing, spelling, proofreading, and editing skills
  • Excellent organization and time management skills

Compensation : the expected annual salary range for this role is $55k - $80k based on experience and qualifications plus paid overtime, excellent firm paid benefits, RRSP plan.
