Job description

We're supporting a pioneering client in the quantum technology space in their search for an Integrated Photonics Engineer . This role is ideal for someone excited by the challenge of building novel photonic systems from the ground up, especially within a highly collaborative, research-driven environment. The successful candidate will contribute to the design, testing, and optimization of next-generation photonic circuits used in advanced computing applications. The position involves hands-on lab work, including the development of test platforms and data acquisition tools for device characterization across a range of temperatures.

Role Highlights

  • Design and implement experiments to assess the performance of on-chip optical components and integrated photonic devices
  • Set up and operate test equipment for evaluating photonic systems under various environmental conditions
  • Analyze device behavior and performance metrics; summarize insights for internal teams
  • Write scripts for automating test procedures and post-processing data
  • Partner with internal stakeholders—engineers, scientists, and designers—to iterate on device development
  • Document workflows and share technical knowledge across the organization
  • Support intellectual property development through research contributions

Your Background

  • Graduate degree (Master’s or PhD) in physics, electrical engineering, optical engineering, or a related technical field
  • Professional or academic experience working directly with integrated photonic technologies
  • Comfortable working with optical alignment, fiber-optic systems, and related test tools
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Familiarity with core concepts in photonics, signal integrity, and device modeling
