Psychologist or Psychological Associate

The Simcoe County District School Board is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Psychologist or Psychological Associate. Reporting to the Senior Psychologist / Manager of Clinical Services, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing a variety of psychological services in schools in a timely and responsive manner.
Qualifications
- For Psychologist - Doctorate Degree in Psychology; for Psychological Associate - Master's degree in Psychology.
- Registration with the College of Psychologists of Ontario in the area of School Psychology.
- The SCDSB will consider Doctoral Level Graduates eligible for registration with the College of Psychologists in School Psychology and working towards certification. Movement on the salary grid may be limited during this period (**).
- Registration with the College of Psychologists is required for the Psychological Associate position.
Pertinent Skills and Experience
- Three (3) years (Psychological Associate) to five (5) years (Psychologist) of related experience in a school board setting preferred; experience in children's mental health may also be considered.
- May provide clinical supervision to non-registered team members and carry a caseload.
- Provides psychoeducational (diagnostic) assessment services.
- Develops and implements education plans and behavioral consultations; experience with risk assessments is an asset.
- Experience or willingness to engage in a trans-disciplinary team model (e.g., Psychologists, Social Workers, Teachers, Principals, Attendance Counsellors, Speech and Language Pathologists).
- Provides Special Equipment Allocation (SEA) Claim review consultation and targeted assessment services.
- Serves as an expert resource for Board staff, central special education staff, school staff, and administration, offering guidance to ensure informed decisions regarding student health, safety, and quality of psychological services.
- In-depth knowledge of relevant legislation, codes, and regulations related to psychological services, diagnosis, education plans, privacy, and confidentiality.
- Maintains comprehensive case files, records, and individual plans related to crisis response, conflict resolution, counseling, and intervention programs.
- Opportunities to participate in program development and mental health strategies.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
- Proficient computer skills, including experience with data management systems and MS Office applications (Word and Excel).
- Reliable transportation is required due to service area size; mileage reimbursement at the Board-approved rate.
- The position works the school year for ten (10) months and ten (10) days. The salary range for Psychologists is $89,611 - $110,842, and for Psychological Associates, $83,919 - $103,723. An annual skills allowance of $15,371 is available for registered psychologists; this will be prorated based on FTE.
- This is a unionized position; union dues are applicable.
- Participation in the OMERS Pension Plan is mandatory for all full-time permanent employees, even if currently receiving an OMERS pension.
