Job description

This person is responsible for assuring the quality of cannabis before it is made available for sale, investigating complaints received about the quality of the cannabis, and taking corrective action.

Job Requirements :

  • BSc in pharmacology, toxicology or related field (Food, Biochemistry, Biology, Chemistry, etc)
  • Experience in Quality Assurance Management in a similar production environment, proven knowledge and experience related to the duties of the position including Chemistry (HPLC and GC experience), Food or Pharmaceutical GMP / GPP or Plant Science knowledge.
  • Ability to write and review Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) is a must
  • General understanding of plant productions and processing procedure
  • Strong and current knowledge of Cannabis Act & Regulations’ GPP
  • The Cannabis Act & Regulations requires candidates to undergo security / background checks, and the individual must be approved by Health Canada as suitable for the QAP role
  • Experience in leading 3rd party and internal audits, recall programs, releasing products, sanitation programs and general QA / QC experience in a high-volume production facility
  • Minimum three years’ experience in a cGMP regulated environment
  • Experience in the cannabis sector is strongly preferred
