Job description

We’re looking for music and pop culture fanatics to help create the best experience for our customers. As a Hot Topic Part-Time Assistant Manager – Level 1, you’ll be a key part of our success by supporting the store leadership team in providing an exceptional customer experience, ensuring fans can access their favorite merchandise. Your fandom knowledge will be vital in training new recruits and supporting daily operations and sales targets.

What You'll Do

1. Provide an engaging shopping experience that encourages customer loyalty, showcasing your product knowledge and customer service skills.
2. Step in and support when needed, covering the sales floor and assisting leadership during busy times.
3. Open and close the store as required, demonstrating responsibility and trustworthiness.
4. Operate the register, process sales, and utilize your fandom knowledge to promote add-on sales, including benefits like BOPIS and curbside pickup. Communicate shortages or overages to the Store Manager.
5. Understand store sales goals, KPIs such as UPT and ADT, and contribute to achieving them.
6. Assist with planogram updates, including store layout, wall displays, fixtures, and merchandising.
7. Share fashion and music trend insights with management and HQ partners.
8. Collaborate with Store Management to prevent theft and ensure store security.
9. Maintain organized stock rooms and a tidy store environment.
10. Support the development of a passionate, collaborative team to run the store effectively.
11. Perform any additional activities as assigned by the Store Leader.

What You'll Need

• At least 1 year of retail experience, with a love for music and pop culture.
• Strong communication, time management, professionalism, and operational skills, along with a drive to mentor others.
• A high school diploma or GED.
• The ability to navigate the store, merchandise products using approved equipment, and lift up to 50 pounds.
