Qualifications

About Island Gold District: Alamos Gold’s Island Gold District will become one of the largest and lowest-cost gold mines in Canada. With the two mines within the district, Island Gold and Magino employ over 900 team members who work in the underground and open pit operations and are located in northern Ontario, just east of the town of Dubreuilville, 83 kilometres northeast of Wawa. Key Responsibilities:

  1. Responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of all activities related to maintenance (mechanical).
  2. Answers queries and handles requests related to maintenance (mechanical) which includes problem solving and judgment.
  3. Complies with established methodologies and quality standards related to maintenance (mechanical) while at the same time recommending new or alternate approaches.
  4. Prepares reports and completes documentation related to maintenance (mechanical).
  5. Monitors, analyzes, and implements changes to ensure maintenance is preventative, predictive, and proactive.
  6. Monitors and reports on the achievement of targets and revises strategies as needed.
  7. Coordinate and supervise daily activities of on-site Contractors.
  8. Utilize Maintenance & Supply Chain Best Practices in conjunction with the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for processing work orders, purchase requisitions, weekly schedules, PM’s, and updating the equipment database.
  9. Provide assistance to Senior Supervisor/Superintendent in the hiring of maintenance employees.
  10. Provide employees with clear work objectives and expectations of the performance levels required.
  11. Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback to direct reports.
  12. Complete all time entry, vacation requests and scheduling.
  13. Provide leadership to the team.
  14. Promote and maintain a high-performance culture.
  15. Promote health & safety at work and conduct accident and incident investigations.
  16. Carry out workplace inspections using work cards.
  17. Analyze accidents and broken equipment to find solutions and avoid repeating the event.
  18. Prepare and animate monthly team meetings reinforcing HSS standards.
  19. Assist weekly planning meetings.
  20. Review all work-orders, confirm that all the required information has been added and that it is accurate before returning it to the planning department.
  21. Prepare production and other reports.
  22. Other duties as required.

Skills & Qualifications:

  1. Journeyperson trade certification in a relevant trade is required.
  2. A combination of over 5-6 years of work experience in the Mechanical Department (mining equipment).
  3. Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience as a supervisor and good communication skills.

Schedule:

  1. 7 days on, 7 days off (Tuesday- Monday)
  2. 11.5HR shifts
  3. Rotating days and nights
