Role Overview

Are you a design researcher with a passion for strategic thinking? Do you want to ensure that the business makes decisions based on having the Client at the heart of everything we do? Are you driven to make things simpler, more intuitive and more innovative? Do you want to help Global Cash Management become a more Client-centric organization, and drive innovation for the next generation of corporate and commercial banking?

In this role, we are looking for people with vision and energy to help us in our quest to change the future of corporate and commercial banking and help elevate the practice of UX research within Scotiabank. You will contribute your research expertise to new initiatives to create useful, usable, and delightful products and features for our customers. You’ll inspire change at all stages of product development by delivering compelling presentations of your findings. You should have experience in qualitative research.

What You’ll Do
  1. Conduct remote and in-person user research using methods such as usability testing, surveys, interviews, competitor research, card sorting, and tree testing to verify mental models, validate concepts, evaluate designs, and support product development.
  2. Participate in design critiques and ideation sessions, sharing research findings and feedback from users.
  3. Work with project teams to determine research needs, create protocols, recruit participants, moderate sessions, analyze results, and present findings.
  4. Design and execute studies addressing user behavior and attitudes, using appropriate methodologies.
  5. Generate insights to fuel ideation, and create engaging presentations with storytelling and visuals for various teams and management levels.
  6. Collaborate cross-functionally with design, CX, product management, data science, content strategy, engineering, and marketing to ensure solutions remain client-centric.
  7. Contribute to the UX research repository, creating documentation and tracking insights and recommendations.
  8. Support the evolution and innovation of the UX research practice and assist other researchers.
  9. Promote inclusiveness and incorporate a “continuous discovery” approach to product design.
  10. Advocate for users of our products.
What You'll Bring

  • B.A/B.S. in human behavior-related fields such as HCI, psychology, anthropology, sociology, communication, information science, media studies, computer science, or industrial design.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in UX Research, CX Research, or Service Design.
  • Experience in product development or service design contexts.
  • Skills in requirements gathering, recruitment, data analysis, and sharing findings.
  • Ability to make design recommendations based on research.
  • Familiarity with qualitative and quantitative data integration.
  • Desire to experiment and develop new methods.
  • Examples of influencing teams toward people-centered design.
  • Passion for asking questions and solving design problems.
  • Comfort navigating ambiguity and change.
  • Experience with UX platforms such as Maze, Figma, Qualtrics, User Testing, Mural, FigJam.
  • Resilience and receptiveness to feedback.
Bonus Skills
  • Conversational Spanish.
  • Experience measuring research impact (ROI).
  • Conference speaking or writing about UX/design/strategy.
  • Experience with analytics tools like Adobe Analytics or Google Analytics.
  • Teaching research methods.
  • Exploring non-traditional recruitment pools.
  • Experience with empathy labs in UX research.
