- Develop and maintain computer databases.

- Document reporting needs, queries, logic, results, and recommendations for other information systems professionals.
- Implement measures to prevent unauthorized data access.
- Coordinate with staff on data requirements, collection, and availability.
- Advise other informatics professionals on database management tools.
- Set up IT infrastructure to enable applications to access databases.
- Design and develop databases.
- Operate database management systems to analyze data.
- Research and document data requirements, collection policies, and access rules.
