About This Opportunity
The Shopper Marketing Manager will manage, customize, and execute growth strategies as well as beverage solutions in partnership with a retail portfolio of customers (e.g., Metro, Sobeys / IGA), based in Canada. The goal is to drive volume, share growth, value, beverage incidence, and profitability across Canadian outlets.
This role involves managing relationships with the brand team, partners, sales, customer contacts, regional and local assets, and other internal and external stakeholders to support customer programming throughout the year, as well as retail channel and digital execution.
Responsibilities
- Participate in the planning and development of retail strategy, consumer missions, and marketing plans based on consumer insights.
- Develop and implement insight-driven, occasion-based strategies and partnership marketing programs tailored to meet the needs of Coca-Cola and trade partners.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including Brand & Category Commercialization teams, to develop marketing programs targeting consumers and aligning with customer strategies.
- Manage marketing budgets to ensure productivity and a strong return on investment; prioritize and execute marketing activities.
- Plan and execute channel and customer promotions leveraging brand and consumer insights to increase preference and activity.
- Provide customer business and opportunity assessments.
- Serve as a marketing generalist, stewarding consumer insights, industry trends, innovation, and media leadership within the customer portfolio.
- Execute consumer and customer programs tied to Coca-Cola properties (e.g., Olympics, World Cup) to meet brand and business objectives.
- Prepare reports and presentations communicating research findings, insights, and actionable recommendations.
- Develop marketing materials such as POS, sell-in materials, digital content, and social media assets.
- Write creative briefs to articulate communication objectives and success criteria for agency work and creative development.
Qualifications
Education / Experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and experience.
- At least 3 years of experience in shopper marketing, preferably in FMCG industry or agency.
Skills
- Bilingual in English and French, both written and verbal.
- Strong ability to interpret shopper behavior, brand strategies, and channel needs, translating insights into actions.
- Proven ability to manage priorities and deliver results, leveraging insights effectively.
- Creative problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Strategic thinking with the ability to integrate brand and shopper strategies into retail programs.
- Collaborative mindset with effective influencing skills across stakeholders.
- Excellent communication skills at all organizational levels.
- Leadership qualities and influencing ability.
- Experience in digital marketing, including POS development and digital ecosystem integration.
- Proficiency in MS PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
- Assist with French translation of materials as needed.
