Roof Loader / Material Handler - 6 months contract

Position Summary

It is both challenging and rewarding work. We are Team Convoy, a distributor of construction materials; we supply roofing, building envelope, and below-grade materials. We want folks with great people skills on our team because, in the end – people make all the difference.

For a Roof Loader, we are looking for a physically strong person who is good at working at heights for our Courtney location at 2981 Moray Avenue. This position has the opportunity to learn about our industry, new equipment and our business operations. This role may also perform Shipper Receiver duties when not acting as a Roof Loader.

Responsibilities

• Follow all safety protocols for fall protection
• Interest in working in a physically demanding, labour-intensive position
• Load and unload materials for trucks and safely stage them on a rooftop for customers
• Assist Drivers with load securement following all safety compliance
• Assist Drivers at the job site
• Document review of materials being loaded onto the truck and delivered to the job site
• Shipping and receiving of materials when required
• Prepare bills of landing, invoices, and other shipping documents
• Assemble orders, packing, wrapping, and labelling pallets, can place material in storage areas
• Load trucks, ensure accuracy and quality of loads
• Inspect and verify incoming product and store in designated areas
• Organize stock and maintain inventory
• Assist in inventory audits
• Follow all safety requirements
• Drive a forklift

Requirements

• Able to lift and carry 75 lbs repeatedly daily
• Able to easily work on rooftops
• Be reliable, safe, and able to attend work regularly
• Able to adhere to all safety protocols
• Experience working in a warehouse, distribution center, shipping and receiving department or similar environment
• Able to lift 75 lbs. repeatedly
• Previous experience with forklift
• Able to attend work on a regular and consistence schedule
• Basic math skills
