Our Toronto office is seeking an energetic and enthusiastic Architectural Specifications Writer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in construction specifications and a passion for creating clear and concise documentation.

Responsibilities:

1. Specification Development:
   1. Collaborate with project teams and external specialists to develop project-specific manuals.
   2. Research and document construction materials, products, and methods.
   3. Craft detailed architectural specifications for various project components.
   4. Ensure compliance with building codes, standards, and best practices.
2. Coordination & Integration:
   1. Coordinate with engineers and other disciplines to integrate their requirements into the specifications.
   2. Assist in preparing bid documents and review contractor bids.
3. Communication & Collaboration:
   1. Communicate effectively with suppliers, manufacturers, and contractors regarding specifications.
   2. Maintain open communication with the project team on specification updates.
4. Maintenance & Risk Management:
   1. Keep specifications current with evolving codes and industry standards.
   2. Identify and mitigate potential risks and issues related to specifications.

Must Haves:

1. Degree in Architecture, Architectural Technology, or Architectural Engineering.
2. 5+ years of experience in developing technical documentation, including construction specifications.
3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
4. Strong organizational and time management abilities.
5. Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
6. Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., MS Word, project management tools).

Nice-to-Haves:

1. Designation as a Registered Specification Writer (RSW) or Certified Specification Practitioner (CSP).
