Experience recruiting across multiple provinces or within various time zones is preferred
Experience with a combination of agency and corporate recruitment preferred
Background in the transportation industry is a plus
Experience providing HR support as needed
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Proficiency in using an Applicant Tracking System (ATS); familiarity with UKG preferred
High-level proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and internet navigation
Experience in managing KPIs and reporting
Key Skills:
Recruiting Strategy Development: Identifying and studying current and projected job needs and qualifications
Sourcing & Networking: Developing and executing research strategies to build recruiting sources, such as search engines, message boards, publications, colleges, and job fairs
Candidate Outreach: Posting ads, cold-calling potential candidates, leveraging referrals, and developing relationships with job-posting site representatives
Applicant Tracking System Management: Overseeing ATS by updating sourcing, profiling, resume management, matching, tracking, and hiring information
Key Accountabilities:
Collaborate with locations across Alberta and British Columbia
Negotiate and develop vendor agreements with staffing agencies when necessary
Lead the recruitment team to fulfill staffing requirements
Design and implement an overall recruiting strategy aligned with organizational goals
Develop, update, and review job descriptions and specifications
Conduct job analysis to document requirements and objectives
Prepare recruitment materials and post positions across appropriate job boards, newspapers, and institutions
Source and recruit candidates via databases, social media, etc.
Screen resumes and job applications to identify suitable candidates
Conduct interviews using reliable recruitment and selection methods, ensuring candidates are filtered effectively
Assess applicants’ relevant knowledge, skills, soft skills, experience, and aptitudes
Onboard new employees to ensure smooth integration into the company
Implement and monitor HR recruiting best practices
Provide analytical, documented recruiting reports to the team
Act as the main point of contact and build influential relationships with candidates throughout the selection process
Business Processes:
Assist in developing procurement business policies and processes
Provide training on efficiency and best practices for all locations
Reporting:
Coordinate performance reporting for recruitment across Alberta and British Columbia
Implement tools and key metrics to track recruitment performance
Travel:
Travel required between Alberta and British Columbia as needed
