Job Title: Director of Finance

Location: Dublin, Ireland

Employment Type: Full-Time | Permanent

Salary & Benefits:

  • Remuneration €84,898 - €105,604 (7-point scale). Note: Candidates entering the public sector for the first time will start on Point 1.

About the Role: Director of Finance

As Director of Finance, you will be a key member of the Executive Management Team, reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). This is a high-impact leadership position responsible for strategic financial management, business planning, compliance, and team development. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in financial leadership within public sector, not-for-profit, health, or disability services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide financial leadership and strategic advice to the CEO, Executive Team, and Board of Directors.
  • Oversee the development, management, and monitoring of the organisation's budgets, cash flow, and financial reporting.
  • Ensure full compliance with regulatory, statutory, and audit requirements, including those of the HSE and other public bodies.
  • Drive financial sustainability and support strategic organisational development.
  • Lead and grow a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders including funders, auditors, and partners.

Candidate Requirements:

Essential:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA) with at least 5+ years' experience in a senior finance leadership role.
  • Proven track record in budgeting, financial analysis, strategic planning, and team leadership within a large, complex service delivery environment.
  • Deep understanding of public sector funding and financial frameworks, or the ability to adapt quickly to them.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Genuine alignment with the mission and values of the organisation.

Desirable:

  • Experience working in or with healthcare, disability, social care, or not-for-profit sectors.
  • Demonstrated capabilities in:
  • Strategic financial planning
  • Risk and compliance management
  • Service excellence and quality assurance
  • Leading finance transformation or digital finance initiatives
