A premier energy trading firm in Stamford seeks a skilled FTR Trader or a Quantitative Analyst ready to transition into trading. This is an opportunity to join a high-performance proprietary trading team and contribute to a data-driven, algorithmic trading environment, with a focus on SPP and ERCOT markets.

The Role:
  • Develop and execute FTR trading strategies, leveraging power market modelling and congestion analysis.
  • Conduct market analysis, using quantitative modelling, machine learning, and statistical arbitrage to identify trading opportunities.
  • Collaborate with quantitative analysts, fundamental analysts, and senior traders to refine predictive analytics.
  • Manage risk exposure, optimise bidding strategies, and enhance portfolio performance.
Your Profile:
  • Experience: 4+ years in FTR trading, power trading, or a quantitative analyst role with power markets expertise.
  • Market Knowledge: Strong understanding of the US power grid, nodal markets, transmission congestion, and auction dynamics (SPP & ERCOT preferred).
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Python, R, SQL, or similar for data analysis, market modelling, and optimisation techniques.
  • Mindset: Analytical, innovative, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, quantitative trading environment.
