Role Responsibilities:

• Process blood samples and laboratory specimens accurately and timely.
• Enter requisitions and results correctly.
• Provide excellent customer service, displaying empathy, care, and kindness to create the best patient experience.
• Assist in testing and handling specimens, including venipuncture and ECGs.
• Ensure specimens and documentation are prepared according to SOPs and protocols.
• Maintain confidentiality and contribute to quality and compliance standards.

Qualifications:

• Secondary School diploma and completion of a Laboratory Assistant training program or Medical Lab Assistance course with phlebotomy training.
• Customer-focused with genuine concern for patient health.
• Skilled in phlebotomy, capable of managing anxious patients calmly.
• Ability to prioritize and self-manage in a deadline-driven environment.
• Extremely detail-oriented.
• Proficient in English, both written and verbal.

Additional Information:

• Vaccination against COVID-19 is a requirement as per BC Ministry of Health.
• Salary range: $20-$23 per hour.
