Position Overview

Join us as a Finance Summer Student and help create health and build community in East Toronto! In this role, you will support operations-related projects and initiatives within the finance and accounting functions at the hospital.

This position is offered through the support of the Government of Canada's Canada Summer Jobs Program. All applicants must meet the program's minimum requirements.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Provide accounting and clerical support for daily operations within the Finance team, including Accounting/Reporting, Planning and Analysis, and Accounts Payable.
  • Assist with internal and external reporting tasks as assigned.
  • Support the management of hospital asset disposals.
  • Ensure timely validation of invoices and payments.
  • Assist in processing user changes in the E-Requisitioning software.
  • Support ad hoc requests and projects as needed.
Education
  • High school diploma required.
  • Enrollment in a relevant post-secondary program, such as Business or Accounting, preferred.
Experience
  • Experience in creative writing, school newspaper, or similar activities.
  • Ability to work effectively as a team leader or member.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated tact, diplomacy, and customer service focus.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
  • Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience in gathering, synthesizing, and summarizing information.
  • Ability to prepare clear and concise reports and documents.
  • Comfortable working within a team and engaging with stakeholders at all levels.
