We are the 17th largest agency in the country with approximately 4,718 public housing units and 11,700 vouchers as well as developing affordable housing programs. Our Vision is to shape our future by utilizing sustainable funding models to develop quality, affordable housing solutions in partnership with our community stakeholders. We are seeking an energetic professional for the position of Administrative Hearing Officer & Training Coordinator.


This position is responsible for conducting and managing administrative hearings related to the Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Program, ensuring compliance with HUD regulations, landlord-tenant laws, and CMHA policies. Key duties include scheduling and conducting hearings, reviewing evidence, issuing decisions, training staff, and updating procedures. The role requires strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills, along with proficiency in relevant software and a commitment to confidentiality.


Key Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in human services or related field; or a combination of education and work experience to perform job duties as described.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of work experience in a public housing authority, governmental agency, highly regulated or compliance-driven environment, or a closely related field.
  • A Housing Specialist certification or an equivalent credential, preferred.
  • Hearing Officer Certification is preferred. If not already certified, it must be obtained within twelve (12) months of assuming the job position.
Preferred Attributes:
  • Knowledge of HUD regulations and landlord-tenant law.
  • Ability to train and manage staff effectively.
  • Commitment to cultural sensitivity and confidentiality.
