Job description

We are looking for a Technical Project / Delivery Manager for a permanent (or contract-to-permanent) role in Calgary, Alberta. Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.

Hybrid schedule, 8 hours a day, 40 hours a week. Some travel to the U.S. required every few months. It is NOT a remote role.

Description

Our client is seeking an experienced Technical Project / Delivery Manager with a strong technical background and solid understanding of data analytics and business intelligence projects. Responsible for delivering and enabling a best-in-class SaaS product and underlying data foundation for large enterprise clients. The successful candidate will have enterprise delivery experience across various disciplines including customer-facing business areas, enabling business units, and technology.

With the goal of optimizing internal delivery capacity while driving customer satisfaction, the Senior Delivery / Project Manager will play a critical role in ensuring delivery timelines are met and key risks are managed with the Product and Engineering teams.

Role Responsibilities
  1. Collaborate with Account Management and Strategic Growth teams, applying best-in-class program management methodologies.
  2. Work closely with the Delivery team to establish and enable core products for enterprise clients.
  3. Coordinate with Engineering and Product teams to address issues, identify opportunities, and remove blockers preventing on-time delivery.
  4. Plan and manage multiple concurrent projects for existing and new customers.
  5. Participate in quarterly meetings with senior leaders to discuss project outcomes and key results.
  6. Develop detailed delivery scope statements, timelines, define responsibilities, and oversee stakeholders across product lines, aligning scope with capabilities and roadmaps.
  7. Provide leadership for an Agile project team, motivating members to meet goals and milestones.
  8. Identify and manage technical and business risks to ensure project success.
  9. Collaborate with project teams including Product, Engineering, and Project leaders.
  10. Translate complex requirements into clear paths forward, proactively address obstacles, and ensure stakeholder commitments are met.
  11. Communicate product needs and milestones, managing senior stakeholders against dependencies.
  12. Report progress, performance, impediments, and mitigation efforts to Business Unit Leaders and Executives.
  13. Create communication and change management plans to support project lifecycle.
Required Skills and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of PMLC, SDLC, data service architecture, and project management frameworks.
  • 5-10 years of Program/Project Management experience on mid to large-scale enterprise projects.
  • Leadership skills to inspire and lead delivery teams, with effective collaboration and negotiation abilities.
  • Mentoring and coaching capabilities for junior team members.
  • At least 3 years of technical experience in data engineering, software development, or data service architecture.
  • Experience in decision-making and problem-solving across client departments including IT, Infosec, and Business.
  • Proven experience working with executive and senior stakeholders, facilitating commitments and decisions.
  • Ability to act as a trusted advisor to customer organizations.
  • Experience implementing programs, operational models, and RACI frameworks.
  • Knowledge of software and data integration, data cleanup, and data integrity management.
  • Familiarity with cloud technologies, specifically AWS / GCP.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Business process analysis and design experience.
  • Extensive experience with Agile methodologies.
