About The Role

We are seeking a seasoned engineer to join our Cloud Growth team. You will help elevate our Growth initiatives for Confluent Cloud and our Data Streaming Platform, solving complex technical challenges to unlock new customer and revenue opportunities. You will collaborate with frontend, backend, and other engineering teams to architect, design, and build experiences that power Confluent Cloud, enabling new business avenues. You will oversee end-to-end technical delivery from design to deployment in a fast-paced environment, leveraging your expertise in cloud-native, large-scale distributed systems.

What You Will Do

• Manage the entire Software Development Lifecycle including design, coding, testing, infrastructure, security, and operations.
• Collaborate with engineering and stakeholders to drive customer and revenue growth.
• Lead technical initiatives in areas like visualization, data analysis, developer tooling, SDKs, platforms, frameworks, and major component improvements across teams.

What You Will Bring

• At least 8 years of software development experience.
• Expertise in large-scale or distributed systems engineering.
• Proficiency in Cloud Native technologies, including networking and security.
• Experience with multiple programming languages (Typescript, Java, Golang, Python, etc.) and IDEs.
• Experience operating production services in cloud environments.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to influence teams and management.
• Experience in technical interviewing and mentoring junior staff.
• A proactive approach to removing friction and driving improvements with a results-oriented mindset.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent; an advanced degree is preferred.
